There are some things that you think are never going to be within reach. For me it was owning a Shoyoroll Gi. I have wanted one since I first started my journey in Jiu Jitsu. I started saving my money and was on a mission to own my on Shoyoroll.

I guess at thirteen years old I am not very good at saving money. I was finally able to save $100.00 but the chances of someone wanting to part with their Shoyoroll gi for that amount was slim to none, or so I thought.

I posted on the Shoyoroll Trade or Sell facebook page on November 3rd that I was looking for a gi and all I had to offer was $100.00. Within the first 30 minutes of my post being on there Travis Hardee asked for my address and offered to send me a gi for free. It was the most generous act anyone has done for me. He was a total stranger and he thought I deserved a Shoyoroll gi.

The response and support on that one simple post was overwhelming.

There was also another gentleman in my local area that had been following the same post. He invited me over to get some training in at his home gym. He had the complete setup, nice mats for rolling, throwing dummy it was a NICE gym. After teaching me some new moves and getting beat up for a while he had a surprise for me. He pulled out a bag and gave me another SYR gi along with a rash gaurd and shorts. A guy had set it up for Dave to give them to me. His name is George Alexandrou.

I have been truly blessed with the people that I have met through Jiu Jitsu. They are some of the best men and women out there. Their hearts are so big. I could never have imagined people out there that have never met me would believe in my love for the sport so much. I have never felt more proud to be a part of a community.

I want to again send out thanks to these great people that have made me so happy. I promise to make all of you and the whole Shoyoroll community proud. I cannot wait until I am able to show the love and pass the generosity that I have recieved on to someone else.
