Writers Police Academy

It was a very busy summer for me. I left California and headed to Appleton, Wisconsin to attend the Writers Police Academy.
It was an event that I will remember for the rest of my life. I was named chief of security and I took my role pretty serious. While at the event I was able to practice target shooting, practice building searches, watch a police pursuit, and much more.
I enjoyed everything about the event. I must say that my favorite part of the entire five days was meeting all of the people. I got to go on a car ride with one special lady. It was not the skid pad, or the defensive driving, it was just a ride from the hotel to the training center. This lady was the funniest, and nicest woman I have ever met. She made me laugh until I cried, she schooled me on hip hop, and scorned me for my lack of movie knowledge. Most people in the literary world know her as Janet Reid, top literary agent, some from the Writers Police Academy know her as Janet Reid, Queen of the known universe, I just know her as Mrs. Reid the person I wanted to bring home with me in my luggage.

It was a great trip and I hope that I am able to attend next year.
