Since the images of Caitlyn Jenner were released on the cover of Vanity Fair there have been so many tweets, post, and comments. There are supporters and there are ones that don't support his lifestyle change. I personally don't care if he wears a dress or not.
The great thing about living in the United States of America is we are free to make choices about how we live our lives. We also have the freedom of voicing our opinions about others and why we don't believe their choices in life are correct.
With the Diane Sawyer interview recently airing and the photos of Jenner just being released it has caused a lot of talk. I have not gone a day since the photos were released without seeing it on my newsfeed at some point. With all of the fame the Kardashian/Jenner family has attained over the years people are interested in what they do. The ESPYs just capitalized on using the Caitlyn Jenner story to gain more views. What T.V station would'nt want to have Bruce Jenners first appearance on T.V as Caitlyn.
The first ESPYs were awarded in 1993. ESPY stands for Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Award. Up until 2004 the ESPYs were voted on by the fans. According to wikipedia sportswriters, broadcasters, sports executives, and sportspersons, collectively experts; or ESPN personalities also vote. Award winners have been selected thereafter exclusively through online fan balloting conducted from amongst candidates selected by the ESPY Select Nominating Committee. That group of people know what it takes to bring the viewers in.
One thing that we cannot take away from Bruce Jenner is he was a celebrity before the Kardashians, and he was once known as the worlds greatest athlete.I do believe it took courage to tell his story for the world to judge and criticize him. I think there were many others who deserved to be honored for the courage they have displayed over the past year. Caitlyn Jenner would have never crossed my mind as a canidate for the Arther Ashe courage award, but it wasn't my decision to make.
If Bruce Jenner was able to save just one life by telling his story then he did the right thing.
Everyone wants happiness. I hope that Bruce Jenner has found his.
