Memorial Day is about more than cookouts, swimming, and a day out of school. Memorial Day is a time to remember all of the men and women that served our country.

Memorial Day was originally called Decoration Day and is a day to remember all of those that have died while serving our country. President Lyndon Johnson declared Waterloo N.Y the offical birthplace of Memorial Day in 1966. There are over two dozen other cities that claim the birthplace of Memorial Day.

Memorial Day is a day that has been celebrated for many years. It was officially proclaimed on May 5, 1868 by General John Logan.

There are so many men and women that have given the ultimate sacrafice to ensure that we as Americans remain a free nation. Thank you to all that have served, continue to serve, and to those that have lost their lives. I send out prayers of peace for their families.

God Bless The U.S.A
