EGO Was A Success, Now On To The Next

This past weekend I attended EGO (Extreme Grappling Open) in Indianapolis. It was a great event.
I headed out for Indianapolis on Friday afternoon. After a long ride we made it to weigh-ins. I weighed in a little heavier than I should have and had to fight up a weight class. Having to fight up a weight class is never a good thing. Normally when I weigh in I am at the top of my weight bracket, which means I would have people my same weight and possibly ten pounds under me. Since I weighed in over what I normally weigh, I was at the low end of the weight bracket, which meant I could face people as much as 10-15 pounds heavier than myself. Guess what happened.

My opponent as you can tell from the picture above, was just a little bit bigger than me. He was also three years older. After some very tough matches I came out victorious. I won this match with a belly down arm bar.

Thank you to everyone that supports me. It's time for me to get back in the gym, train, and get back down in my weight bracket so this does not happen again.
