Judo is a martial art that was born in Japan, it is now known around the world as an Olympic sport. Judo was established in 1882. The term Judo means Gentle Way.

One of the first things you learn in Judo is how to break your fall. Even though Judo means Gentle Way there is nothing gentle about it. When you get thrown it hurts. I have learned how to break fall the hard way. After you get thrown a couple of times, you try to learn how to land properly.

Balance is another very important part of Judo. You have to have a good strong core. Good balance means that you have a better chance of not getting thrown.

Throws are my favorite. You do not have to be the biggest person out there to throw someone. It's not even about strength. It is about technique. The only way you are going to gain the technique you need in Judo is by repetition.

I am very new to playing Judo, and still have so much to learn. It is a sport that I have fallen in love with very fast. I am fortunate enough to train with some of the best around.
